Invitations

Invitations

Invitations are your tool to tease and entice guests to your party.  It is the first port of call for would be party goers and you want to impress, inform and intrigue.

DPQ’s 4 easy steps to ensure your invitation is fit for royalty:

1. No pain, No gain- Put a little effort into it
First impressions last and your invitation is what will set the tone for the event ahead. It is critical that you put the effort into the invite and engage your invitees from this early stage.  Personalise your invitations when at all possible, as there is nothing quite like the tailored touch.  If you want to really make an impact pass on the shop bought invites and create something yourself- or even go interactive;
  • If you can’t find a design that speaks to you, upload your own photos to use as your invite design.  It sets your invite apart.
  • There are plenty of websites that allow you to create and design your own ecard for free, and they send it to your guest list for you.

  • If it is a recurring event like a family reunion, put some of the best pictures from the past parties in this year’s invite (It will work as a great talking point.)

2. Create A Need For Communication
People are more apt to respond if they have something they can contribute. Ask them to respond with what they are bringing or to let us know their party trick.  Another way to initiate conversation is wait until they RSVP before sending the final details (could be address, theme or guest of honour)- this makes people curious and quicker to respond.

3. Send Reminders
Sometimes people just need a gentle prod- we’re all guilty of sending last minute RSVP responses.  Also contact confirmed guests a couple days prior to the event to remind them of the time and location- no excuse for late comers or no shows.

4. Follow Up For Future Events
If you are someone who plans numerous events, set the standard for how well you handle pre and post party planning and wrap up. Be a leader not a follower.
  • Send thank you emails with pictures and videos of the event.
  • Post your pictures to your profile on various social networking media so they can be viewed by your guests. People will feel connected to your events and be more likely to respond to future events because they already feel involved.
